Message from the Director

“Be the Change that you wish to see in the world” (Mahatma Gandhi) is the theme of the year 2024 and students, parents and staff have indeed grasped the concept, gone with the flow and enjoyed the experience.

We have been on a journey of transformational self-discovery over the last 4 years and it appears to me that we have been successful. You always ask yourself, how do you know? Well it appears evident from feedback from parents and visitors to the school, from our increasing numbers, the fact that staff do not wish to leave our school and others are applying in very large numbers to become part of our esteemed school. Most people measure success in education based on academic results. Certainly we have had continued improvement in this regard. However, I was once asked by a parent about how do I measure the success of a school; my reply and my personal belief is: Is this child happy? Does this child have friends? Is he or she involved in the school and community? Do they enjoy coming to school and most of all are they experiencing success and personal growth?

That is why my philosophy of education provision is anchored on creating independent lively and pleasant learning environment where every learner can reach their full potential both intellectually and socially. Royal Palace Academy Nairobi desire to bring up a well-rounded learner is supported up by the well-known declaration of psychologist BF Skinner that “education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten.” This shows that the quality of education will lie on the strength of the academic results it produces as well as the values, friendships and attitudes that last for many more years.
